How to Get Traffic to Your Website by: Maryellen Doody

You have set up your website, now what?

Write a blog. A blog is a type of website, usually maintained by the individual with regular entries on recent events, a commentary of what is happening in the world and some people use it to tell a personal diary. A blog can have text, video and even a link to your website.

A blog can be used for your business, you can focus on a particular subject; like your product and highlight it through blogging. You need traffic. The Internet has a huge diversity of people that ranges in age, culture, education, interests and geographical location. Promoting your product is no longer limited to classified ads and banners. To drive traffic to your site you need to grab the buyer's attention. Remember quality and substance is better than quantity. A website can look truly beautiful, awe inspiring even, but it needs to attract sustained traffic which attract many others and before long you will have a continuous flow of traffic to your site. Getting traffic to your website may seem like a complex problem, but it is not. Writing a blog is a great way to get traffic.

How do you set up a blog? First of all you need a domain name, this is important if you are building your blog around your business. A keyword corresponding to your URL will have a positive impact on your business. This can bring in different sources of traffic. Search engines will review the words in your domain name and your blog and decide how to rank it. This is called keyword domain. Think carefully when choosing you domain name for blogging.

Next step is to sign up with a blogging site- which is free; a good example is blogger.com. There are lots of templates to choose from. Choose your template, pop in a photo or a picture from the web and you are almost complete. The blog must provide valuable content, it must cater to the buyers needs. The buyer should feel it is worth while checking this website out and that they will recommend the site to there friends and family. Offer something valuable to them. If you met them-what would you say about your product? Use your imagination and be genuine. When you are writing your blogs, do some research, read magazines, books, articles, talk to people, find out what you would want. You do not have to be a playwright or poet to write a blog. Get friends to help you, or outsource it for a fee.

Make your blog fun and easy to read. Keep your English simple. Keep your sentences short. Write like you are talking to people, not in book format. Make the font size and type -easy on the eyes! Utilise spell check, and use correct punctuation. Keep to the point throughout the text.

Update your blog regularly, ideally daily. A love for writing will make it easier. You need to be disciplined, this is your business that you are promoting. Develop a thick skin; read people's comments and listen to what they are telling you, these visitors are your potential customers. People can be very critical whether it is called for or not. Reply quickly to the comments, keep a sense of humor and you will succeed.

When people will read your blog, it will be recommended and you will begin to build traffic to your site. This is just one of the many ways to get traffic to your site

Directing Traffic to Your Website Using Banner Ads by: Maryellen Doody

Banner ads

One of the most popular forms of advertising is banner ads. It is one of the many ways to get traffic to your website.

A banner ad is a form of advertising on the Internet. The banners are embedded on to a web-page thereby linking the visitor to your homepage.

These small rectangular advertisements vary considerably in appearance and subject matter, but they all share a basic function: if the visitor clicks on them, their Internet browser will take them to the advertiser's Web site. If they do not want to know about the ad they close it.

Sounds simple enough, so how do you get started? Website owners will allow you to display your banner ad for a fee. The website owner can also agree to do an exchange for displaying their banner ad on your website and your banner on their website. This is called banner exchange.

Some websites lets you display for free. There are hundreds of free banner ads exchanges, which can be found through google, if you have a lot of time, this is a good way to go. Be prepared to do some research. A lot of people have their own website or a blog and a signature that they will use in many forums. If they like your product, or digg your product enough, they may be willing to show your banner. Research how much it costs and plan your budget. Are you going to be charged a fee for having your banner hosted? Will you be charged by the number of clicks? By knowing the answers to these questions you can budget accordingly.

Banners nowadays are in a flash format. Flash technology generates animation, sound, and rich colour, which makes the banner ad eye-catching and engaging, encouraging the prospective customer to click on it.

In order to set up and display a banner needs to be well thought out. The banner can easily be placed at the head or foot of the web-page so visitors can view them. When the visitor clicks on the banner they will be taken to your homepage.

The banner ad needs to be creative. If you are not the creative type there are specialised computer software programs available with numerous templates which allows you to design a banner. You can also get a designer to create a banner for you at a reasonable cost through a freelancer website. Once your banner is ready-publishing it is the next step. You need to figure out what your target audience is, for example: golf equipment sales.

Sites that you could target would be golfing lessons or golf site forums. Research what sites are appropriate to your banner ad campaign. Your aim is to get traffic to your website; so it is important that you find out how much traffic the website receives. You can find this out through the webmaster, they can provide you with proof of how often there site is visited. To display your banner, click on their advertise on this site link and buy a banner ad space, or go directly to their agent and select where your banner ads should go. Because many sites are handled through third parties, it is possible to have your banner ad displayed in many sites at once. When you have found which websites you want to display your banner, it is time to put your plan into action and watch the traffic flow.

Set Your Business Apart With Video Marketing by: Matthew Bredel

Although it was once considered a marketing tool for the big businesses, video marketing is now quite accessible to all entrepreneurs from newbie to big dog. With all of the tools available, it is possible to create videos for a fraction of the cost. This is good news for online entrepreneurs who could use a boost in their traffic numbers. Video marketing has proven to be one of the best ways to increase traffic and sales with a great return on investment.

Are that many people really watching videos? The answer is YES. Reports show that more than 50% of the U.S. population will watch videos online this year. Furthermore, video is an excellent tool for the many people who do not read well or have trouble comprehending the written word.

Video marketing also feels more like entertainment or education than advertising. People are growing tired of watching and reading advertisements or ads disguised as articles. Watching a video is more appealing and feels like less work on their behalf.

Marketing 101 tells us to look for what the people want and give it to them. That’s why video marketing is proving so successful. Whether it is informational, personal or primarily for entertainment purposes, video is better able to fulfill a need than ads or the written word.

Break it Down and Just Do It

Chances are, you have heard all about the wildly successful video marketing but you are unsure about how to utilize it for your own business promotions. The key is to take it step-by-step:

Identify your video topic—Know your target market and what they want. While some people are looking for insider tips or an education, others are searching for entertainment or a way to get to know you and your business better. Consider these things as you determine the right tone and topic for your videos.

Come up with the perfect keywords—Choosing the right keyword for search engine optimization of your video is the best way to put your video to work for your marketing purposes. Good keywords are related to your business and niche; they should also have a high search volume. Identifying the right keywords may take some research, but it is worth the effort. There are many free online tools that can help you in your keyword research.

Plan out the production—Rather than just throwing something together and risking the chance of rambling or creating a confusing video message, plan out your dialogue. Do you want to write out the script or ad-lib? Either way, you want to make sure your message is clear and to the point. If you drift off into rambling conversation or get too dull, you’ll lose your viewer and possibly a potential sale. So keep it interesting and value-packed for your viewers and make sure your message is relevant and clear.

Know how to distribute your videos—So you have a video…what now? It is important to know how to distribute it in order to make the most out of your video. Programs such as Traffic Geyser can help walk you step-by-step through the distribution and promotion process. It makes the process pretty effortless, and will likely help you to get that great ROI you are looking for with your videos.

Whether you are hoping to benefit from a little YouTube traffic or just want to direct people to a video on your website, now is a great time to give video marketing a try. While it may seem overwhelming, with the right tools and a good understanding of the method, you can experience great success pulling in much-needed traffic.

The Make Money Mindset by: Shannon Herod

Do you want to make money online? If you are looking to start making money online you need to have the right mindset. Without the right mindset you are going to be at a disadvantage. Without the right mindset you are going to be fighting an uphill battle.

Unfortunately, most people who come online and looking to start an online business have absolutely no business experience. This in itself makes it very difficult. Why? Well, people with no business experience lack the confidence to make a business work. They doubt themselves and therefore make rash decisions.

They make decisions based on emotion and in some cases on height. So, their mindset and confidence level dwindles to the point where they cannot succeed. They cannot succeed because they have lost confidence in themselves.

When you lose confidence in yourself you have basically just thrown the towel in. It makes it even harder to succeed online. But, when you work on your mindset and when you work on believing in yourself, it makes it easier to succeed online.

When you believe in yourself and you believe in your decisions, you tend to make them better decisions. You are more likely to take action on the things you learn. If you are taking action you are moving in the right direction. Fortunately, you can work on your mindset everyday.

You simply need to find what areas you need to work on and start working on. Once you have your mindset right it will be that much easier to make it online. Once you start making a living online your mindset totally changes. You go from scarcity thinking to abundance thinking. Once that happens you are truly on your way.
